HOW TO PREP FOR YOUR

LASH APPOINTMENT

REMOVE YOUR CONTACT LENSES

Bring your contact lens case and solution, wearing contact lenses while applying extensions is a safety concern. Once lashes have been applied, you can put your contact lenses back in.

REMOVE ALL EYE MAKEUP

Avoid wearing mascara, eyeliner, or any eye makeup to your appointment. Your Lash Technician will have makeup remover on site; however, removing eye makeup on site can be time consuming and can cut into your eyelash extensions application time.

AVOID CAFFEINE

Caffeine can cause jitters, which may prevent you from staying still and relaxed during your appointment. Try to refrain from caffeine before your eyelash appointment.

SHOWER BEFORE

Showering before your lash appointment is highly recommended because the adhesive has to cure for the next 24 hours after applied. Please note during the 23-hour period, steam and moisture from the shower is not ideal for your freshly applied eyelash extensions.

Frequently asked questions

WILL EYELASH EXTENSIONS DAMAGE MY NATURAL LASHES

This is one of the biggest myth around eyelash extensions. Fortunately, eyelash extensions do NOT damage your natural lashes when applied correctly. Eyelash extensions can be damaging if your eyelash technician is not using the proper techniques. Certified eyelash technician will apply an extension that is appropriate in weight and length to ensure your natural eyelashes are healthy and continue to thrive. Be sure not to rub your eyes, tug, or pull on the extension because this can cause lash loss and even damage to your natural lashes. Remember - your natural lashes have their own life cycle of falling and growing - It is hard to notice small lashes falling out, but when attached to a thicker, longer lash they become much more noticeable! Once the eyelash extensions are removed, your own eyes may appear smaller, and your natural lashes will appear shorter and sparser because you were accustomed to a full set of longer, thicker lashes.

WILL THE EYELASH EXTENSIONS HURT?

Eyelash extensions do NOT hurt when applied correctly. Many clients find the eyelash extension application process to be the most relaxing part of their day. The application is so precise - neither eyelash extensions nor adhesive touches your skin or eyelids at any time. The extensions are attached precisely as it is bonded to your own natural lash.

CAN I SHOWER WITH EYELASH EXTENSIONS

You can NOT get the lash extensions wet for 24 hours after being applied. That means no swimming, showering, hot tubs, or steam rooms. After 24 hours, you can do all the activities that you would normally do. They are a great alternative from mascara when going on holidays/vacations. Salt water? No problem, your extensions are just fine in salt water. However, oils make the extensions fall out. Please be diligent when applying creams with oils and/or sunscreen.

HOW LONG DO THEY LAST?

There are two answers to this question, if you choose to maintain the extensions (Re-filling) every 2-4 weeks, the extensions will last indefinitely. As long as you return for regular maintenance and clean them at least a few times a week with a foaming lash cleanser (or baby soap) at home, your eyelash extensions will remain lush. On the other hand, if you decide that you no longer want to maintain your eyelash extensions, they will last through a full growth cycle of your natural eyelashes, typically six to eight weeks.

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO APPLY LASHES?

Lash extensions are applied while you lay down with your eyes closed on a comfortable spa bed in a relaxing setting. The Classic Lashes application is completed in about 1.5 hours. The Hybrid or Volume Lashes application is completed in 2 – 2.5 hours. Refills for both will take about 45 – 60 minutes. After prepping your lashes, your bottom lashes are protected with a collagen gel eye pad. It is a very relaxing treatment and most of our clients enjoy a nap during the eyelash application!
